LESSON 2 by WICKS (David Omar)

My inking is still a bit wonky. Ovals are hard to ink.

Yeah, I noticed the top of his mouth is curvier in lesson 2 than in 1. And it seems like Blair cheated a little bit with his cheek on the farther side, but probably to make the face more readable. What do you think?

Your final is good, just some minor stuff, but you picked it up in the corrections.

Oh man, i know how you feel with the inking! Its like one LONG stroke, very tough to nail without making more than one and cleaning up.

I have a tough time inking ovals in Illustrator. It's difficult to get both the shape right, and the line weight to vary how you want it. Your attempt looks great though. The line that forms the top of the mouth could be a bit thicker, but that's really the only thing that stands out to me.

Looks good, David. After seeing your ink, I noticed the Preston left eye wraps with the head. The top line of the left eye is almost parallel to the head line.

Thanks everyone. Very insightful comments. It always helps to have a different set of eyes to break these lessons down.

Inking is definitely an ongoing battle for me. I haven't had that breakthrough, where I just get it. That's why I keep posting them even though they aren't up to snuff, yet.
