Lesson 33

Steps one and two. So far, so good. Simple shapes.

Step 3. Basic Shapes with some depth.

Step 4. Details

Overlay it for comparison.

I don't think it turned out terrible. Some things are off, but I just wish I got the eye's closer to the original, and the hair. The mouth I thought turned out terrible, but it was a lot closer than I thought.

Lesson 11

Here's my mediocre attempt at Lessons 11. I see a lot of what I did wrong right away. Like the hair and the hat(the hat's horrible), and some other stuff is still off a bit like 'stache and mouth.
The hat sucks so bad... so terribly bad.

Lesson 4

Hey fellas, sorry I didn't post sooner, I had a little trouble with my scanner, but its working fine now. I'll try and finish up my lesson 5 one and post it as soon as possible.
Ohh, and I couldn't help but caricature the egg guy myself. This just makes me laugh.

Lesson 3 By James

EDIT: ATTEMPT 2

Some stuff is still off. Like the eyebrows, and some smaller minor details.

Attempt 1

Just gotta fix these.
  • The head is a little lopsided on the top left.
  • I forget that rule that Patrick mentioned about the cheeks.
  • The eyes are a little lopsided.
Anything else?

Lesson 2 by James

This looked close when I drew it, but now everything looks off, and it is. I didn't really get to make many attempts this week, this was only my second or third. But everything needs to be shifted down on the face, and some stuff has to be fixed with the eyes. Ohhh yeah, and the mouth isn't the right shape either.

Lesson 1 by James

EDIT: ATTEMPT 4

I finally got the hang of it.

Here's the transparency.
Still gotta work on...
  1. The pupils are a little off.
  2. The nose is a little off.
  3. The head shape isn't round enough. (Right side near middle)
  4. The eyebrows are a little big.
  5. The left tooth is a little off.
  6. The wrinkles in the cheek are missing.
Improvements...
  1. Everything.
Tips for next time...
  1. Draw BIG!
  2. Measure everything!
  3. Look at other people's.
  4. Try to notice mistakes.
