Hi first post
Hi guys, Im new here. John told me to work on proportions. This is from the screwball page of preston blairs book. Man this stuff is tough. I managed the duck pretty decent. I think I need to slow down a little more and get the loa right. Hey sorry I dont know how to use blogger to well. Theres a really big white gap for some reason.

From what i see from your overlays i'd say you're having the same problem as me!
We're losing a lot of the original action line and often our angles are off. I think its normal and its a practise thing.
I'm also timing myself now that i'm drawing the book out fulltime (quit my job)
Also i'd recommend getting really good quality blue/red/black pencils, the leds are softer and force your to break things down into hierarchies more.

Hey thanks for the comment. Ya its hard for me to find the Loa on the drawings. I notice if I really slow down and study the drawing I can get the angles to be better, but I hate drawing slow. I guess patience is another thing I need to learn. I'd like to see some of your current drawings gabba but your last blog post was a about a year ago. Are you still doing Preston blair studies? What are some pencil brands that are good quality that you recommend?
These look good, pretty solid. The lines could be a little more slick, but the shapes are good. Nice job.
I recommend my pencils, but i don't know if you'll have them in your country (damn pencils):
I'm a big fan of Faber-Castell Polychromos.
My favourite colours are:
>Bluish Turquoise
>Geraniumrot Hell, Pale Geranium Lake
But these have gone up in price lately (when to the store yesterday and freaked) They're about $3,50 equivalent each.
So i bought a slightly cheaper brand from Faber, of which i'm still gonna try out.
They're called the ART GRIP AQUARELLE
The Polychromos can be annoyingly soft unless you work as rough as me before tightening up at the end. I'm beginning to think i have a line confidence problem >.>
