Those are pretty close, John! Good job.
I really like the bottom one, it looks solid.
That's probably a good idea to try every so often. Sometimes it can be easy to forget to maintain the energy while focusing on proportions etc. Being able to achieve both is the ultimate zen moment, haha.

Nice stuff you got there!
I was looking in a book, a friend of mine bought in france, called Tex Avery, with alot of his art, a shame it's in french... But anyway, in the book they made a couple of pages on cells, with some animation from slap happy lion!:)
It was awesome, maybe some day he will let me borrow it, so I could post some that brilliant book!
