What happened with John K's blog. I think we were all learning a lot from it?
Is there at least an archive of some sort that we can still see his posts from when it was public?

The best way to learn any skill is to practice and teach it. This blog allows talented folks the ability to critique and be critiqued. Techniques will be perfected, eyes will become sharper, and we will go from good to great. Honest, constructive, and sincere (not mean-spirited) comments are welcomed and appreciated. We will focus primarily on animation principles with flexibility on other subjects (technology, clean-up).

I'm not sure why it's private now, but Kali has invited people to comment on her blog, for John to read to convince him to make it public again.

I think it might have been the rude commenters, that just like arguing. Most of the people that read, are like us, and try learning SOMETHING. But the assholes have to ruin it. I remember John in one post even said he was getting very offensive/threatening comments, that he just couldnt even post, and he even got the cops on the people. Crazy... it's just drawings and moving pictures.
This is absolutely horrendous news. I'm appealing with Kali on facebook. Do i have you guys added there? If not look for my name Gabriele Gabba and add me :)
Keep cartoons alive :D
I've tried everything to access his site.
Here's the closest i could get:
http://www.google.co.za/search?q=site:johnkstuff.blogspot.com&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
Click on the 'cached' buttons. The earlier stuff seems to have no working pics, but the later stuff has them.
Do we need to contemplate archiving this stuff? Hmmm.
I'm hoping he put it on private because he's compiling a book of all his cartoon knowledge. Thinking more people will buy the book if they can't read it for free on his blog.
Either way, it would be a cryin' shame for all that valuable wisdom to just be completely shut off from us.
Well lots of people are talking about a book from John, it'd be a real piece of work! Hey guys sorry i've been so absent from this site, i'm printing out my copy of the original P.Blair adv.drawing this Saturday and will be back in no time :)
Rock on!
I just read on uncle Eddie's theory corner, that he has talked with John about it, and John says that he has too many irons in the fire right now...
And he is not closed to making it public again, and that he's still recruiting people to the college blog...
I just wonder, and asked Eddie, how we contact John, to show him our studies... Answer from Ed is still waiting:)
It'll be good to see you posting drawings again Gabriele, you've been spending too much time shredding ;) \m/
Let's hope John provides us with a way to contact him regarding critiques. Maybe we could inform Kali and/or Eddie of this blog. It would be a nice one-stop place for John to come and see what his students are up to.
John's full response from an email I sent him.
"a few idiots ruined it for everyone"
Oh well, all good things...
That's not the John I know! *shaking fist*
Heh, i think keeping in touch with 'uncle' Eddie and Kali etc. Would be an excellent idea. Letting theme forward our progress and work to John.
So Thomas, if you can do that or need help in doing that, i will help :)
Also i'm quite interested in finding out more about John's 'college' blog? Sounds like something we ought to be a part of.
Oh and Patrick, i wish it was shredding i've been busy with! XD I work for a crappy iphone video games company now :P
This blog and my drawing is my ticket out!
Look who's back everyone!
YAY! He's back!:D
He said it was temporary, but with all that love being poured into his new posts, he'd be looney toons not to realise what a difference he's making!
I dropped a comment about our blog, lets hope he follows us :)
