Lesson 6 by Jeremy

Hey everybody. Just wanted to post my latest Lesson 6. Still a little off on the smile on this one. Plus the outside oval is a little wonky. It's amazing what fails to jump out at you until you scan it into the computer (Wicks commented on that and I definitely agree). In any case, I wanted to go ahead and post what I had. Feedback is always appreciated.

Lesson 5 by Jeremy

First of all, I have to thank whoever suggested drawing within a window box (I think it was Gabriele but not sure). It made drawing my initial oval much easier, which ultimately lead to a better end result. This attempt at Lesson 5 is by no means perfect, but it is still much better than any of my previous first attempts. I also have to thank everyone who suggested we draw "big". I'm used to drawing relatively close to the size of the image I'm copying, but drawing bigger helped out a great deal.

I apologize for the delay in posts. I let work get the better of me for the past few weeks so I've been a little slack. Hope everyone is enjoying this blog as much as I am. I can already see that people are making progress and that there are some really talented artists out there.

Lesson 1 by Jeremy

I was feeling ok about this one...until I overlaid Preston's drawing on top of mine. Is anyone else having a difficult time drawing an oval? I know, I know, it should probably be the easiest part; but if my initial egg shape is off it throws off my entire drawing. I think this is mainly because it throws my guidelines off-kilter. Anyways, there are some pretty blatant mistakes here (shape of the chin, angle of the eyes and the position of the nose). So, I will most definitely be tackling this lesson again. Just wanted to post something before everyone else moves on to lesson 2.
